Methods Available:

Built-in Text Editor -
This works much like Windows Notepad, but provides
commands and options for cleaning text as well. |
|
Auto Clean - Cleans the
text on the clipboard automatically whenever a cut or
copy command is given from another program. The
cleaned text may then be pasted wherever it needs to
go. |
|
Clean Clipboard Text -
An alternative to Auto Clean. Instead of
cleaning every time a cut or copy command is issued,
the text is cleaned on demand. This command is
available from the system tray menu and by pressing
the Control-Alt-C hot-key from any program. |
Cleaning
Options:

All cleaning options
listed here may be turned on or off as needed. |

Paragraph Options:
 |
Removal of unwanted
line breaks by joining lines together to form
paragraphs. |
|
Option to assume
that the end of a sentence is the end of a
paragraph. |
|
Can leave 1 or 2
spaces after the end of a sentence when joining
lines together. |
|
Can assume that one
or more blank lines indicate paragraph separation. |
|
Can assume a line
begins a new paragraph if it is indented by a
certain number of spaces. |
|
When reformatting,
line breaks can be re-inserted to enforce a
specified line width. |
|
|
Spacing Options:
|
Paragraph
indentation may be adjusted to a specified number
of spaces. |
|
The number of lines
in between paragraphs can be adjusted. |
|
Removal of extra
spaces between words. |
|
Spacing in between
sentences may be cleaned up. Sentence
spacing may be set to 1 or 2 spaces, depending on
your writing style. |
|
Adjustable tap
stops. |
|
|
List Formating Options:
|
Can identify lists
within the text which are formatted using numbers,
letters, roman numerals, bullets, dashes, a star,
or the letter "o". |
|
A custom symbol may
be given which identifies a list item. |
|
Each list item
found may be formatted like an ordinary paragraph,
or list items may be indented by a specified
number of spaces. |
|
|
Find and Replace
Options:
|
Option to remove
e-mail reply marks (> symbols) |
|
Can specify up to 5
"find" and "replace" text
items. The find and replace occurs while
cleaning. |
|
Find and replace
may optionally be case sensitive. |
|
Find and replace
may optionally be restricted to matching whole
words. For instance, if replacing
"him" with "her", setting this
options will prevent the word "himself"
from being replaced with "herself". |
|
Options are
available to replace: tabs with spaces, spaces
with tabs, tabs with commas, or commas with tabs. |
|
|
Typing and Spelling
Corrections:
|
Automatic
capitalization of sentences. |
|
Corrects the common
typing mistake of putting TWo INitial CApitals at
the beginning of words. |
|
Includes a list of
400 common spelling mistakes. When cleaning,
misspelled words may be automatically replaced
with the correct spelling. |
|
Presets:
|
Commonly used cleaning
settings may be stored into presets, for easy retrieval
later. |
|
Four presets are
included with the program:
|
Full Cleaning - A
good general-purpose full cleanup. |
|
Light Cleaning - A
less intensive cleanup. |
|
Acrobat PDF -
Specially designed for cleaning up text copied
from Acrobat PDF files. |
|
Remove Formatting
Only - This simply strips formatting from the
text. |
|
Program
Options:
|
When exiting the text
editor, warn (or don't warn) if the current document
is unsaved. |
|
Option to enable or
disable the Control-Alt-C hot-key. |
|
May be automatically
started when your computer boots up. |
|
Option to minimize to
either the system tray or task bar. When
minimized to the system tray, a system tray menu is
enabled allowing quick access to common functions. |
|
The text editor may be
initially hidden or minimized when starting. |
|
Text may (or may not)
be automatically pasted into the text editor window
when using Auto Clean or the Clean Clipboard Text
command. |
|
Option to play a sound
when text is cleaned using Auto Clean or the Clean
Clipboard Text command. The sound played is
configurable. |
Built-in Text
Editor:
| This is similar to Windows Notepad. |
| Support the standard commands, such
as opening and saving files, and printing. |
| Extra commands are available for
cleaning text. An entire file can be cleaned, or
only the selected text can be cleaned. |
| Includes the standard Find and
Replace commands, for searching and replacing text
within the Text Editor window. |
| The font size displayed is
adjustable. This font size is also the font size
used when printing. |
